We are a dedicated network providing seamless, standardised care for pregnant women facing suspected or confirmed moderate to severe Placenta Accreta Spectrum Disorder (PASD)—a complex condition classified as FIGO Stages 2 and 3. Our unwavering commitment is to ensure every woman across the South West, regardless of background or community, has equitable access to expert care, compassionate support, and the best possible outcomes for both mother and baby. By coordinating specialized treatment, prioritizing personalized experiences, and fostering trust, we empower women and families navigating PASD.

The purpose of the South West Placenta Accreta Spectrum Disorder Network is:

  • To provide safe care as close to home as possible
  • To promote and share best practice
  • To ensure women are central to their care, that they are involved in their care pathway and they are provided with clear and consistent information and support.
  • Ensure equitable access, excellent experience and optimal outcomes for all communities served by the service.
  • To provide local clinical leadership on the identification, referral and management of women with PAS, including reviewing training, clinical guidelines and referral pathways for all staff in contact with pregnant women.
  • To develop, implement and monitor clinical pathways for PAS.
  • To provide education for health professionals involved in caring for women with PAS.
  • To monitor service and clinical quality against national standards.
